Position’s Scope:
Inovytec is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Director to lead our global manufacturing strategy and execution for a complex, multidisciplinary medical device integrating hardware, software, mechanics, and electronics.
Reporting to the VP of Operations, the Manufacturing Director will be responsible for driving end-to-end mass production through global Contract Manufacturers (CMs) and subcontractors, ensuring operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement.
The role combines strategic global vendor management with hands-on technical leadership, including responsibility for Inovytec’s internal production facility and global RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) and device repair operations.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical device manufacturing, proven leadership capabilities, and the ability to optimize production processes, improve yields, reduce costs, and support successful product scale-up.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and execute global manufacturing strategy from NPI (New Product Introduction) through full-scale mass production.
- Manage and develop relationships with global Contract Manufacturers and subcontractors, ensuring performance, quality, cost, and delivery objectives are achieved.
- Oversee internal production operations, including RMA and device repair activities.
- Drive manufacturing excellence through process optimization, KPI management, yield improvement, and cost reduction initiatives.
- Collaborate closely with R&D, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, Supply Chain, and external partners to ensure successful product lifecycle management.
- Ensure compliance with medical device manufacturing standards and quality management systems.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- B.Sc. in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Proven leadership experience managing global manufacturing operations and external manufacturing partners.
- Strong vendor management capabilities, including experience managing tier-1 and tier-2 Contract Manufacturers.
- Multidisciplinary technical understanding across hardware, embedded software, mechanics, electronics, and system troubleshooting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with hands-on experience using production metrics such as KPIs, Yield, COGS, and OTD.
- Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies, including Lean and Six Sigma.
- Strong understanding of medical device manufacturing standards and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across global, cross-functional teams.
Relevant Experience
- 7–10 years of experience in production management or operations management roles within the medical device industry.
- At least 5 years of experience in senior managerial roles leading production teams and global operations.
- Extensive experience managing global Contract Manufacturers from NPI phases through mass production.
- Proven experience managing internal RMA, service, or repair operations for high-tech or medical equipment.
- Hands-on experience working under strict medical device regulations, including ISO 13485, FDA 21 CFR Part 820, and GMP.
Advantageous Experience
- Experience with multidisciplinary products combining hardware, embedded software, optics, and complex plastics.
- Experience transferring production from Israel to overseas manufacturing sites (e.g., Asia, Eastern Europe).
- Experience working with Priority ERP systems.
